About COCas / ME Living / King Compassion

COCAS, ME Living, and King Compassion are dedicated to creating inclusive, safe, and supportive environments for individuals affected by homelessness, substance abuse, and domestic violence. Our mission is to provide comprehensive care that includes housing, healthcare, and therapeutic support to help individuals regain stability and rebuild their lives.

Position Summary

As a Remote Healthcare Professional at COCASME Living, or King Compassion, you will play an essential role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to individuals in need. Working within a telehealth model, you will provide virtual healthcare services to underserved populations who may lack access to traditional in-person care. You will support our mission by offering medical consultations, case management, patient education, and follow-up care via secure, HIPAA-compliant virtual platforms.

This position allows you to leverage your clinical skills to provide meaningful care from a remote setting, adhering to all legal regulations governing telehealth services. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure clients receive the healthcare and support they need while contributing to the organization’s overarching goal of transforming lives.

  • Provide basic wound care guidance, medication reminders, and chronic disease management education.
  • Document all patient interactions within digital platforms, ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.

  • Provide clinical guidance and supervision to the healthcare team, helping to maintain quality and consistency in remote patient care.

Legal Considerations for Virtual Care

As a remote healthcare provider, you will work within the legal scope of telehealth services, adhering to all state and federal regulations. Key legal aspects of virtual care include:

  • HIPAA Compliance: All patient information must be securely stored and transmitted via HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms.
  • Licensing: You must be licensed to provide care in the state where the patient is located. Ensure compliance with any multi-state licensing requirements, particularly for RNs and doctors practicing across state lines.
  • Scope of Practice: LVNs will work under the supervision of RNs or physicians, while RNs and doctors will practice independently, offering services that are legally authorized via telehealth in their respective states.
  • Telemedicine Guidelines: Follow all telehealth-specific regulations regarding virtual consultations, prescribing, and patient care, which may vary by state.
