Description

F. A. Davis is seeking a nursing education subject matter expert to review and update drug monographs for the bestselling Davis’s Drug Guide for Nurses. This contract-based role can be performed remotely and has the potential to become a long-term contract role but is not a full-time commitment. The selected candidate will be able to set their own hours to complete the work assigned. Comprehensive training will be provided.

Responsibilities

· Review and update the following sections in the Nursing Implications section of each monograph assigned:

o Assessment

§ Lab test considerations

§ Toxicity and overdose information

o Implementation

§ I.V. administration (when applicable)

· Y-site compatibility

· Y-site incompatibility

· Solution compatibility

· Solution incompatibility

o Patient/Family Teaching

o Evaluation/Desired Outcomes

· Ensure monograph aligns with most recent guidelines and parameters set forth by ISMP and FDA (e.g., REMS, High Alert, Tall Man Lettering), AGA (Beers Criteria), package inserts, and nursing literature

· Evaluate and update for safety information; pharmacogenomic implications, OB, lactation, and reproductive implications; and other special considerations and populations, such as pediatric and geriatric

Qualifications

· MSN degree or higher

· 3+ years of experience teaching pharmacology in a nursing program

· Access to current literature

· Access to and proficiency using Windows-based personal computer

· Strong editorial skills and attention to detail

· Experience using a content management system a plus, but not required
