Position Summary

We are seeking experienced, forward thinking Nurse Practitioners (NPs) licensed in New York or New Jersey (ideally both) to join our telehealth team. In this clinical care role, you will evaluate and manage patients with elevated cancer risk, educate them on evidenced based preventive interventions, and guide them through genetic testing, surveillance planning, and lifestyle optimization, all via telemedicine.

Requirements

• Available at least 10 hours per week (between M-F, 9-5), with capacity to increase as the company scales a plus. There is a potential for this role to convert to full time in the future.
• Master’s degree or higher from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Active NP license in New York or New Jersey (ideally both)
• Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (e.g., AANP or ANCC)
• At least 5 years of experience working in Oncology (required); OCN or AOCNP certification preferred
• Proficiency using evidenced based guidelines for cancer screening (e.g. ACS or NCCN etc).
• Comfortable working independently in a remote fast paced start up setting and with telemedicine technology.
• Compassionate, clear communicator — skilled in helping patients navigate complex health decisions.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience with cancer risk assessment or hereditary cancer syndromes.
• Experience using Athena software.
• Background in oncology, primary care or preventive medicine.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct virtual visits with new and established patients at elevated risk for cancers including breast, ovarian, colorectal, prostate, pancreatic, melanoma, and hereditary cancer syndromes (e.g., BRCA, Lynch).
• Perform detailed clinical intake and cancer risk assessments.
• Order and interpret relevant lab work and diagnostic testing as appropriate.
• Collaborate with genetic counselors, physicians, and care coordinators as needed for patient management.
• Guide patients through the process and implications of genetic testing (pre- and post-test education).
• Review and deliver results and care plan recommendations in follow-up visits.
• Prescribe preventive therapies (e.g., Tamoxifen) under the oversight of a supervising physician.
• Provide patient education and referral options in regards to cancer risk reduction strategies, screening, and lifestyle behaviors.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with Previvor’s clinical protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Respond to clinical questions from patients or care team members in a timely manner.
