We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician Assistant with a strong focus on mental health to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing high-quality psychiatric care and will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to support patients with a wide range of mental health conditions. Qualifications:

Educational Requirements:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current, valid Physician Assistant license in the state of practice.
  • Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

Experience:

  • At least 2-3 years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant, with a strong focus on mental health and psychiatric care.
  • Experience working in settings such as outpatient mental health clinics, inpatient psychiatric units, or integrated primary care/behavioral health environments.
  • Familiarity with a range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and substance use disorders.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of psychiatric medications, their side effects, and their management.
  • Proficiency in conducting psychiatric assessments, including mental status exams and risk assessments.
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with mental health disorders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Competence in managing crisis situations and providing acute care for patients in mental health crises.
  • Proficient in the use of electronic health records (EHR) and telemedicine platforms.

Certifications:

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced certifications in psychiatric care (e.g., Psychiatric Mental Health Physician Assistant Certificate) are highly desirable.
