Christie Clinic’s department of Internal Medicine at Windsor is seeking a full-time RN from Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.

Duties include the provision of professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices. An Illinois State RN License is required and professional nursing experience is preferred. This position is remote eligible after successfully completing department criteria, but must attend orientation and training onsite, with occasional work performed onsite, as needed.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 75 pounds.  Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in a clinical setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, hazardous waste, bodily fluids and other waste common to a health care environment.    Requirements may include working irregular hours.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Instruct patients regarding the collection of samples and tests.
  • Arrange for patient testing and admission.
  • Act as a liaison between the patient and provider regarding complaints, concerns, etc.
  • Instruct patient and family regarding medication, treatment instructions and patient education.
  • Demonstrate the ability to respond to triage calls using nursing assessment to ensure patients with emergency situations are given priority and documenting appropriately.
  • Oversee patient scheduling to ensure patients in emergency situations are given priority.
  • Send prescription refills in accordance with nursing standards and as directed by provider.
  • Obtain prior authorizations for medications, testing, procedures, equipment, etc.
  • Maintain work list from provider and follow up on labs, tests, reports, etc.
  • Report weekly work performed to supervisor and adjust according to feedback given.
  • Attend and participate in departmental huddles and any other meetings as necessary.
  • Perform related work as required.
