Remote Locum Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners to conduct medical disability evaluations and assessments for Veterans.

This is a flexible locum opportunity designed for providers who maintain their own office and are interested in supplementing their existing practice. The role primarily involves interview-based evaluations, with some physical assessments, documentation, and follow-up administrative work.

Providers will complete Compensation & Pension examinations and other required health assessments used as part of the Veterans disability evaluation process.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform Compensation & Pension examinations.
• Conduct Separation Health Assessments.
• Complete primarily interview-based medical evaluations with some physical assessments.
• Review relevant medical documentation and patient history.
• Complete required evaluations within the designated provider portal.
• Submit completed reports and Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) within 48 hours of examination completion.
• Complete follow-up administrative work when required.
• Respond to requests for addendums and medical opinions.
• Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely clinical documentation.
• Follow all established examination and reporting requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in at least one of the following:
• Internal Medicine
• Family Practice
• Orthopedic Surgery / Orthopedic-related clinical practice
• Current and valid American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) certification.
• Current and valid license/certification as either:
• Nurse Practitioner (NP), or
• Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
• Must maintain an established private office where examinations can be performed.
• Must be properly licensed in the state where services will be provided.
• Ability to complete required documentation and reports within established turnaround times.
• Comfortable conducting both interview-based and basic physical assessments.

Credentialing Information Required

Qualified candidates should be prepared to provide:

• Nurse Practitioner license number.
• State or states in which currently licensed.
• National Provider Identifier (NPI) number.
• Current professional certifications and credentials.

Schedule

Providers may choose from flexible scheduling options, including:

• Half days – approximately 4 hours
• Full days – approximately 8 hours

Regular follow-up administrative work may also be required after scheduled examination days.

Pay: From $90.00 per hour
