Physician Assistant – Occupational Medicine

John Alchemy MD Corporation Salary Range: $70.00 – $85.00 per hour

Location: Remote. (Company based in Santa Rosa, CA)

 

SUMMARY

The Physician Assistant (PA) provides high-quality treatment to a diverse patient population within an Occupational Medicine telemedicine setting. This role emphasizes evidence-based treatment of workplace injuries, injury prevention, and patient education. The PA works under the supervision of a licensed physician following established clinical protocols and practicing within the defined scope of California state laws.

 

  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

·       Perform telemedicine physical examinations on ill and injured patients

·       Obtain and document complete medical histories and identify occupational health risk factors

·       Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions

·       Develop, implement, and adjust treatment plans based on patient response and clinical findings

·       Provide workplace safety information, health education, and counseling to promote wellness and injury prevention

·       Prescribe medications and recommend non-pharmacologic therapies in accordance with state laws

·       Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., laboratory studies, X-ray, MRI)

·       Assess and document psychosocial factors impacting patient care

·       Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate optimal patient care

·       Engage patients in care planning, ensuring respect, dignity, and cultural sensitivity

·       Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation

·       Ensure adherence to clinical guidelines, safety protocols, and quality standards

·       Promote a culture of patient safety and continuous quality improvement

·       Provide referrals to specialists and community resources as appropriate

CREDENTIALS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in health sciences or related field required
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current, unrestricted California Physician Assistant license
  • National certification through NCCPA
  • Active supervising physician agreement in compliance with California regulations
  • Minimum 2 years recent CALIFORNIA WC clinical experience required
  • Active DEA registration
  • Experience with telemedicine evaluations and basic X-ray, MRI and NCS interpretation
  • Experience with X-ray, MRI and NCS interpretation
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
