We are actively seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for both direct hire and contract travel positions across diverse healthcare settings. We have roles in all states, but the priority states are: Utah, Oklahoma, Arizona, Hawaii, California, Washington, Maine, Pennsylvania, Oregon, Minnesota, Illinois, Missouri, Alaska, Montana, Wyoming, Texas, Ohio, Colorado, Vermont, and New Hampshire.

 

Duties

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health history documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
  • Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions, immunizations, and controlled substances following aseptic techniques.
  • Monitor patients’ conditions closely in acute care settings such as ICU, Emergency Room, or trauma centers; manage airway support with ventilators and respond to emergent situations promptly.
  • Conduct specialized procedures including suturing, catheterization (urinary and vascular), tube feeding management, and wound care.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans aligned with patient needs and clinical protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining confidentiality of patient information and proper medical documentation.
  • Support discharge planning by coordinating follow-up care, providing patient education on medication administration, lifestyle modifications, and post-treatment instructions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives by adhering to NCQA standards, ICD coding practices (ICD-10/ICD-9), and infection control protocols.
  • Assist with triage assessments in urgent care or outpatient settings; prioritize patient needs based on acuity levels.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development related to specialties such as cardiology (e.g., cardiac catheterization), ophthalmology (e.g., botulinum toxin treatments), geriatrics (memory care), behavioral health, or hospice & palliative medicine.

Experience

  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience in diverse clinical environments including hospital medicine, critical care units (ICU/CCU/PICU), emergency medicine, or post-acute settings such as nursing homes or assisted living facilities.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks for documentation and order entry.
  • Hands-on experience with complex procedures such as IV insertion, phlebotomy, laboratory specimen collection/processing, and aseptic technique.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology related to trauma medicine, infectious disease care, pain management, occupational health, and geriatrics.
  • Prior exposure to specialty areas including neonatal ventilator management, dialysis procedures, ostomy care, mammography support services, or esthetic laser treatments is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of Workers’ Compensation Law related to occupational injuries; experience in case management is preferred.
  • Knowledge of CPT coding for billing purposes alongside ICD coding practices for accurate documentation.
