Triage Registered Nurse (RN) – Remote (New York Only)

Location: Work-from-Home (Must Reside in New York)

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Triage Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a strictly remote capacity. This role is ideal for a clinically strong RN who thrives in independent work environments and is confident managing complex patient situations over the phone.

Although this is a fully remote position, candidates must reside in New York State to ensure service area alignment and accommodate potential future deployment mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide telephonic clinical triage and patient assessment
  • Evaluate patient symptoms and determine appropriate level of care
  • Engage in complex and sensitive conversations with patients, families, and hospital staff
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and timely care coordination
  • Document assessments and clinical decisions accurately and thoroughly
  • Work independently while maintaining high clinical standards and accountability

 

Required Qualifications

  • Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Recent ICU or Emergency Room (ER) experience required (strong preference for experience in both settings)
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of acute care clinical experience
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high-acuity cases and rapid clinical decision-making
  • Strong communication skills, particularly in navigating difficult conversations with families and healthcare professionals
  • Proven empathy, emotional intelligence, and compassionate patient interaction
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment with strong time management skills
