Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Triage Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a strictly remote capacity. This role is ideal for a clinically strong RN who thrives in independent work environments and is confident managing complex patient situations over the phone.
Although this is a fully remote position, candidates must reside in New York State to ensure service area alignment and accommodate potential future deployment mechanisms.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide telephonic clinical triage and patient assessment
- Evaluate patient symptoms and determine appropriate level of care
- Engage in complex and sensitive conversations with patients, families, and hospital staff
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and timely care coordination
- Document assessments and clinical decisions accurately and thoroughly
- Work independently while maintaining high clinical standards and accountability
Required Qualifications
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Recent ICU or Emergency Room (ER) experience required (strong preference for experience in both settings)
- Minimum of 3–5 years of acute care clinical experience
- Demonstrated ability to handle high-acuity cases and rapid clinical decision-making
- Strong communication skills, particularly in navigating difficult conversations with families and healthcare professionals
- Proven empathy, emotional intelligence, and compassionate patient interaction
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with strong time management skills
