Hybrid Remote Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner – North Carolina

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric Prescriber to support an adult Mental Health–Primary PHP/IOP program. This is a 1099 contract role designed for clinicians who prefer flexible scheduling, low administrative burden, and a collaborative, clinician-led treatment environment.

The prescriber will focus on psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and interdisciplinary collaboration, without responsibility for therapy delivery, utilization review, or billing.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial psychiatric evaluations for PHP/IOP clients
• Provide ongoing medication management and follow-ups
• Collaborate with the Clinical Director and treatment team on individualized care plans
• Review labs and coordinate care with outside providers as needed
• Maintain timely, compliant documentation in the EHR
• Participate in occasional treatment team meetings (virtual or in-person)

Patient Population

• Adults (18+)
• Primary diagnoses: mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma-related conditions
• Co-occurring substance use may be present but is secondary, not detox-level

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted North Carolina license (MD, DO, or PMHNP)
• Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry or Psychiatric Mental Health
• Experience with PHP, IOP, or outpatient psychiatry strongly preferred
• Comfortable working in a team-based, structured treatment setting
• Strong clinical judgment and professional communication skills

Compensation Structure

• Competitive monthly retainer or per-day rate
• Paid as a 1099 independent contractor
• Malpractice coverage provided or reimbursed (program-dependent)
