Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric Prescriber to support an adult Mental Health–Primary PHP/IOP program. This is a 1099 contract role designed for clinicians who prefer flexible scheduling, low administrative burden, and a collaborative, clinician-led treatment environment.
The prescriber will focus on psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and interdisciplinary collaboration, without responsibility for therapy delivery, utilization review, or billing.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial psychiatric evaluations for PHP/IOP clients
- Provide ongoing medication management and follow-ups
- Collaborate with the Clinical Director and treatment team on individualized care plans
- Review labs and coordinate care with outside providers as needed
- Maintain timely, compliant documentation in the EHR
- Participate in occasional treatment team meetings (virtual or in-person)
Patient Population
- Adults (18+)
- Primary diagnoses: mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma-related conditions
- Co-occurring substance use may be present but is secondary, not detox-level
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted North Carolina license (MD, DO, or PMHNP)
- Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry or Psychiatric Mental Health
- Experience with PHP, IOP, or outpatient psychiatry strongly preferred
- Comfortable working in a team-based, structured treatment setting
- Strong clinical judgment and professional communication skills

Compensation Structure
- Competitive monthly retainer or per-day rate
- Paid as a 1099 independent contractor
