At NOVA Community Services, we provide compassionate, community-based mental health support for youth and adults. Our services include crisis support, community stabilization, outpatient therapy, and youth behavioral programs.
We are expanding our telehealth services to ensure clients have timely access to psychiatric care and medication management.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide virtual psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and clinical support for youth and adult clients across our programs.
This role requires a provider who can offer consistent daytime availability, allowing our team to schedule appointments in real-time for clients in crisis, stabilization, and outpatient services.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations via telehealth for youth and adults
- Provide ongoing medication management and follow-up appointments
- Support clients in crisis programs and community stabilization services
- Perform virtual mental health assessments, including ADHD evaluations when appropriate
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation
- Be available for scheduled appointments during designated daytime hours
Availability Expectations
- Must have reliable daytime availability (Monday–Friday preferred)
- Ability to support same-day or next-day scheduling when emergent need arises
- Schedule coordinated with internal team using consistent appointment blocks
Qualifications (REQUIRED)
- Active Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license in Virginia REQUIRED
- Providers must be licensed in Virginia, as all services are delivered to clients located within the state via telehealth
- Board certification as a PMHNP (PMHNP-BC)
- Authorized to prescribe medications in Virginia (DEA required)
- Experience working with youth and adult populations
- Experience with telehealth platforms preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skillsPosition Details
