Role Description<

The Urgent Care Telemedicine Advanced Practice Provider will deliver HIGH VOLUME remote urgent care services to patients via secure telehealth platforms in a full-time capacity. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting virtual assessments, diagnosing and treating common urgent conditions, prescribing medications, and providing clear follow-up instructions. The provider will document encounters accurately in the electronic health record, coordinate care with other clinicians, and ensure that patients are triaged appropriately to in-person or higher levels of care when needed. This role also involves patient education, adherence to telehealth best practices and clinical protocols, and participation in quality improvement and compliance activities. The position is fully remote, requiring reliable technology, professional communication, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with the broader clinical team.

Qualifications

 

  • Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant NY license, with appropriate board certification (e.g., Family, Adult-Gerontology, Emergency, or similar), and eligibility to practice in relevant states.
  • Demonstrated previous experience providing ER/urgent care with strong clinical assessment, diagnostic reasoning, and evidence-based treatment skills in a telemedicine or outpatient setting.
  • Proficiency with telehealth platforms, electronic health records, and basic clinical technology; ability to manage remote visits efficiently and securely.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including clear documentation, patient education, and the ability to engage diverse patients in virtual environments.
  • Commitment to patient safety, ethical practice, and regulatory compliance, including familiarity with HIPAA, telehealth regulations, and prescribing standards.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage time effectively, handle variable visit volumes, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team.
  • Comfort treating a broad range of urgent conditions (e.g., minor injuries, infections, medication issues), with sound judgment about escalation and referral.
  • Preferred: Prior telemedicine experience, experience in family health or urgent care, and familiarity with quality improvement initiatives and clinical protocols.
