Remote Nurse Practitioner-Part Time- Maryland

Peridot Primary Care is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Remote Nurse Practitioner to join our team on a part-time basis, working approximately 1-2 days per week. This is a fully remote/telehealth position providing virtual primary care services to adult patients.

The ideal candidate is personable, clinically confident, open to learning, comfortable working independently in a virtual environment, and interested in providing comprehensive, patient-centered care. The Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with our onsite clinical team to ensure continuity of care and appropriate follow-up for patients who may require in-person evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality primary care services to patients aged 18 and older through secure telehealth visits.
• Conduct comprehensive virtual patient assessments, evaluate symptoms, diagnose conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans within the appropriate scope of telehealth care.
• Provide follow-up care for acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Review laboratory and diagnostic results and communicate appropriate treatment recommendations to patients.
• Prescribe and manage medications in accordance with applicable laws, clinical guidelines, and practice policies.
• Educate patients regarding health promotion, disease prevention, medication management, and chronic disease management.
• Identify patients whose conditions require in-person evaluation, testing, emergency care, or referral and coordinate appropriate follow-up.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Collaborate with the Practice Owner, onsite clinical staff, and administrative team to provide coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
• Communicate effectively with the onsite team regarding patients requiring physical examinations, laboratory testing, procedures, or other in-office services.
• Maintain patient privacy and HIPAA compliance while working remotely.
• Stay current with evidence-based guidelines, medical advancements, and best practices in primary care and telehealth.

Qualifications

• Board-certified Nurse Practitioner.
• Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Maryland.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in primary care and/or urgent care.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Experience providing telehealth services is preferred but not required.
• Comfortable independently managing appropriate primary care concerns in a virtual setting.
• Strong understanding of when a patient’s condition requires escalation to in-person or emergency care.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
• Reliable internet connection and an appropriate private workspace suitable for confidential patient encounters.
• Ability to work independently while remaining collaborative and responsive to the broader Peridot Primary Care team.
• Patient-centered, professional, dependable, and adaptable approach to care.

Work Arrangement

This is a part-time, fully remote position, approximately 2 days per week. Patient encounters will primarily be conducted through telehealth. The Remote Nurse Practitioner will remain integrated with Peridot Primary Care’s clinical operations and will coordinate with the physical office when patients require in-person services.
