California practice note: NP and PA practice arrangements differ. NPs may practice under standardized procedures or, if they meet the requirements, under California’s 103/104 NP pathways. A PA’s duties, procedures, and prescribing authority must fit their practice agreement and applicable requirements.
You can include a line such as “All clinical duties and procedures must be performed within the clinician’s training, demonstrated competency, and applicable California scope-of-practice requirements.” California’s BRN describes NP education and certification requirements and the rules for furnishing medications.
